A FAREWELL POEM

By Lizelle

Words can't express what I'm feeling right now,
without even having you around.

When I saw you in that hospital bed, all I could do was cry,
because I didn't have a chance to say good-bye.

If I only knew my last time to be with you was when I spent the night the week before,
then I should have made it memorable and worthwhile a whole lot more.

Grandpa I always wondered how you managed to smile and make us laugh under all that pain,
and we would give anything to see that smile and hear your voice once again.

Thank You Grandpa for all the good memories you shared with us,
and sharing those memories with our children is a definite must.

Right now all I'm thinking of is why God took you away,
for I didn't even get to say all the things I needed to say.

Although, I'm happy now for you're in a better place,
living now under God's grace.

So Grandpa all I'm asking of you is to send us your love,
all the way from up above.

Oh yah Grandpa, one last plea,
please say hello to my Grandpa Ted and Ate Pamela for me.

Well Grandpa this is it, so long and good-bye, and even though we're far apart,
you'll always have a special place in my heart.

Thank You Grandpa for being so faithful, so trusting, so true,
and don't forget Grandpa I'll always LOVE you.
